Brussel Sprouts with Orange & Parma Ham

Something else I made a long time ago, but didn't get around to blog about. If you can still find brussel sprouts, this is a great dish all year round. And if you can't get fresh - use frozen! It's a yummy side dish for meat or poultry, and since it has rather strong flavors, it's not to "sprouty".

Brussel Sprouts with Orange & Parma Ham

500 g fresh brussel sprouts
1 tbsp butter
80 g parma ham, torn into small pieces
1 orange - juice and finely grated zest
100 ml cream (full-fat)
100 ml parmesan, coarsely grated
black pepper

Boil the sprouts in lightly salted water. When it's tender, melt the butter in a large pan, and fry the parma ham for a few minutes. Add the juice and zest from the orange, and the cream. Drain the sprouts and add to the pan, along with the parmesan and black pepper.
