Ah, thats The Real Christmas Food :) I didn't read your reply on my last comment untill now, but totally agree; Rakfisk, gammalost og sild ain't my favorites either. It's more of the meat in the picture (ribbe and pinnekjøtt) and the meat cakes (medisterkaker). Looovly! Now I can't wait untill christmas :)
I try to stay away, but I can't wait for my first lutefisk this year. Today Norwegian newspapers have been writing about the special Christmas marzipan that was released in shops today. Actually I think it is a bit to early as Christmas is actually three months away.
Every year I do a Danish-style Christmas buffet. My husband is Danish, so I think it's a nice tradition to pass on to my son. And it's so much more interesting than turkey. My favorites are the gravad laks, leverpostej and karry sild. I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
