Bagels for lunch

bagels-080323

I love a good bagel. My favorite filling is simple - cream cheese, halved cherry tomatoes, and some sliced red onion. It's my standard order when I'm eating at Espresso House, but if I have bagels in the freezer like I do right now, I'll make them at home, too.

Dangerously good 450 calories. :-)

What? You don't make fresh bagels daily? I'm so ashamed of you :(

My favorite bagel topping is a brush full of melted butter mixed with olive oil and some kosher salt. Simple perfection.

I have a dead simple enough recipe so I make bagels all the time. The boiling has a therapeutic angle to it ;).

Of course the classic bagel is the bagel with lox (smoked salmon) and cream cheese. Add thinly sliced red onion, if you like, also maybe some tomato.

Dito to everything! And aren't those veggie bagels at Espresso House simply great!

if I was stranded on an island - I might need to make sure I have bagels. Yum! With a little cream cheese and tomato? Phew! I would be a happy girl.

Christina - oh, totally! :)

Fatb - haha, no, well, I'm just human. Your topping sounds gorgeous, have to try it. With fresh bagels, of course.

Jessika - true! I love making them - this time I just happened to have 15 leftover from a party and.. well, into the freezer they went.

Karin - they sure do. Not at all locations, but most.

Gary - ah, I never actually did try that. I'm not a huge smoked salmon fan, but for the sake of authenticity, I have to do it.. :)

Pia K - yeeees, and with the best coffee, as well :)

Chris - definitely!

Ahhh, I'm sooo craving a bagel now. I love aaall bagels, and if I'm around Fridhemsplan, I always pop by Bagel Deli... Yuuummm. Gotta try & make my own bagels soon, but only if you put up a decent recipe :D
