New egg cups!

frukost-080324

Behold, Per's breakfast setting. A bowl of yogurt. Two sandwiches. (On kavring this particular day - generally with butter and a slice of cheese, sometimes with ham or turkey if we have it.) Tea. And on weekends, always, always a boiled egg. My lovely sister was staying with us a few weeks ago, and got tired of us only having two egg cups. See, we only eat eggs on weekend mornings, and we rarely have people stay over so.. no need for more. Except that sometimes people DO stay over, and we don't have egg cups for them. What a problem! So, my sister solved it, by getting us these pretty ones! There's a green one in the photo, but we also got yellow, black and white. I love them - and I especially loving having one of each color. As you can see in the picture, I like colorful plates and bowls...

Hi Ann
Again browsing your blog, as you can see...
If you had to recommend only ONE book on Swedish Baking, which one would it be? (It doesn't matter if it's published only in Swedish).
Tack!!
Gaby

Melissa - the saucer is what I love so much about them: a perfect place to put the egg shell. :)

Audre - welcome!

Gaby - I'd say that for traditional Swedish baking, there's "7 sorters kakor" which is also translated into "Swedish cakes and cookies". It's a classic!

I have the same egg cups! But mine are in three different greens, one yellow, one orange and one blue. The kids love them, mostly for the fact that they get to choose their favorite colour. (All of our other cutlery, porcelain and general kitchen things are white...)

Thanks for the tip, Anne, and also for the quick response. Is the book you mentioned written by Melody Favish? It's not available yet but I read in Amazon that it will be released in June. And it's already in my shopping basket. Tack!!

Emma, Oh, I bet orange is nice! :)And I like the choosing a favorite color too - perfect with kids.

Gaby - that's the one! She's the translator, I imagine - the recipes are from Ica:s test kitchen. (One of the largest grocery stores in Sweden.) I have the old edition, so I imagine a new one is about to come out!

Jag har också äggfat! Typ... fem sex stycken. Vita. Tråkiga. Men praktiska! Som jag stal av min far när jag flyttade hemifrån för hundra år sedan. Okej då, nio år sedan. ;)

haha, I've got those eggcups too. My mum collects alot of 50-70s stuff and then sells them off in this storage room. You would love it because I've seen you've got that kind of taste... if you want I'll let you know the next time she's selling (it's in Aspudden)...

Pfft. Who needs fancy egg cups.

You give me a water bottle, some duct tape and a sharp knife and I'll give you all the egg cups you ever need.
