Update on kittens, and help with breakfast, please!

A tiny update on the kittens (Thank you, Niklas, for asking!) - they are doing a bit better and gaining some weight on their own. I'd prefer it to be a bit more, but at least they're getting by. We didn't feed them anything yesterday, but I think I'll give them a bit more formula today. I'll update with some more pictures later.

I have had some issues with breakfast lately. I usually get up at 6 am, and leave for work around 7 am. That doesn't leave a lot of time for breakfast, and besides, I don't like to eat that early. I generally feel a bit queasy, and the thought of sitting down to something substantial.. no. I've brought some sandwiches in to work, and that works out.. but it's no fun, and not a good long-time solution.

I'm thinking of getting some yogurt and keeping that in the fridge at work, but I'm also looking for better ideas. Ideally, I want things that can be made in advance, and just heated or at least thawed at work. And they should be fairly self-contained, I don't want to fuss with adding stuff. Any ideas are very welcome! :)

Thanks, Anne! I love the pictures of your kittens. I, myself, am a cat-lover of immense proportions, but sadly, I'm allergic to furry animals.

Breakfast tip: egg sandwich with ruccola and turkey. You can just wrap it and toss it in the fridge until morning.

I don't eat breakfast, but my girlfriend does. I can't give you any of her suggestions as she eats gruel and an omelet in the morning and never pre-makes anything for breakfast.

Good luck with finding good suggestions!

Glad to hear the kittens are doing better! I vote for taking muffins for breakfast. You can freeze the batter and pop them into the oven for something super fresh or you can bake them in advance and individually freeze them. Let them defrost on your way to work and heat them up when you get there. You'll get a big variety of flavors with muffins, too. Keep yogurt or fruit at the office to vary your options.
I also like to make big batches of waffles or crumpets on the weekends and freeze them. They reheat beautifully in the toaster.

Hi Anne! Love your blog by the way ^-^. I usually have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, but that's because I eat at home. You could have your yogurt with granola or make breakfast wraps for work with an omelette inside a tortilla or fresh fruit and then add yogurt. Another idea is tortilla with honey, peanut butter and banana (I have juvenile tastes ^_~). Good luck!

Thank you! Those are some great suggestions! I love the idea of some muffins, and I got some yogurt to keep here at work - there's apparently a kind by Danone that has some.. cottage cheese in it, I think? It sounds strange, but it tastes good. They're really creamy and rich, and more importantly, fill me up just right. :)
