Very strange

Well, tonight's Swedish eurovision competition was extremely strange. The voting was... well, unpredictable to say the least. And the winner is a strange mix between disco and opera. It's on youtube, but I don't know if it'll be up for long...

At the risk of sounding critical, does this type of entertainment really have an audience in Europe? I don't know what surprised me the most, her voice range (from almost male to opera strength soprano) or the dancing accompaniment that looked like rejects from Cirque du Soleil. That was really nasty to say was't it. Sorry!

I totally agree. It was one of my least favorites in the finals... but we'll see - it might be odd enough to get a lot of votes, but frankly, I doubt it...

That is..I honestly don´t want to say it´s disgusting, but... I guess it´s just not my type of music. HaveFaith I agree with you she sounds like a male first!! And then this opera stuff. I like classical music every now and then and musicals as well. But that song...no definetly not mine.
It might be strange enough though to get votes.

It's an anthem! :D I noticed last night that the song is already being used in the tv sports. And it definitely works that way. Personally, I'm not a big fan of opera being mixed with other genres, but on the other hand, I'm not a fan, at all, of pop music either, so this was definitely the least worst song in the competition. Malena Ernman is awesome, can't believe that her wide range is being held against her! Even though she's not my favourite opera singer, she's not BAD in any way. Malena FTW! ^^
