Dad, 70

mammapappa070707
Dad and Mom

Dad had his 70th birthday on the rather magic day 07 07 07. He had a great big party for all his friends, and I thought I'd share with you some of the food! I didn't make any of it, dad brought in a caterer who's a friend of the family, and who makes really, really great food. (Need a caterer in Stockholm? I'll give you her name.)

gravlax-070707
Cured salmon - gravlax - with pinenuts, lemon and basil

fetamelon-070707
Watermelon Feta Cheese salad with olives and red onions - super yum.

karibisklax-070707
Caribbean salmon - very spicy and very very tasty! It had ginger, piri-piri and allspice on it and was served with a super lime yogurt sauce.

pineapplesalad-070707
Salad of mango, pineapple and sweet potatoes - great with the salmon.

lammrulle-070707
Minced lamb stuffed with cheese, sundried tomatoes, olives and herbs

meatballs-070707
Tiny meatballs

ost-070707
Brie topped with thyme and sundried tomoatoes (and something spicy - chilli?)

chocolatecake-070707
Dark chocolate truffle cake with fresh raspberries

Happy birthday to your father - a handsome couple! The food looks so good. That salmon and the brie plus the watermelon salad -- all very unusual and delicious sounding. My parents had their 50th anniversary on 6-14-91 which was also their postal zipcode -- and the post offices 100th anniversary! Funny how numbers work - 70 on 7-7-07 -- a very lucky day!

Happy 70th to your dad! That is so wild that it was on the sevens. Mine is on the 6th so I missed it by one day. The photos made me hungry!!!

Happy birthday to your dad. Our daughter is about to have her baby, and we were hoping for that birth date so much, it sounds so lucky., but it was not to be. I want to eat that pineapple and mango salad right NOW, did it have a dressing on it?Your recipes always make me ravenous, Per is a lucky man to have such a foodie.

Thank you everyone! I'll show this to my dad! :) And happy birthday to everyone who shared his, or had one close to it! :)

Deb - oh, there was wine. Lots. But nothing particularly exciting. :)

The pineapple and mango salad actually didn't have dressing, I don't think! It was very fresh-tasting, and I really liked the sweet potatoes in it. Unusual!
