Housekeeping

I'm proud - I've updated my template quite a bit today. You'll find a lot of my new favorite blogs on the blogroll (although I always read in my rss-reader, so this is by no means a complete list), you'll find that all the recipes from June and July are now indexed in the drop-down menus and you'll also notice that my wishlist links are now working. (Well, maybe not so many of you will notice *that*.)

Actually, talking about wishlists - if you have a moment, check out the list of cookbooks I'm coveting in the right-side column. I'd love to hear your input - if any of these sucks, or is absolutely great: tell me! It's a long list, and I'd love to cut it down a bit.

Jag köpte "brödglädje" åt min mamma i födelsedagspresent och den är verkligen super, precis som kyrkkaffeboken.

Regarding your wishlist, Rose Levy Beranbaum said, "If you love butter, this (Golden Butter Cream Cake) will be your favorite," and she was right for me! It is a wonderfully delicious cake, with an interesting mixing technique, too -- worth the price of "The Cake Bible" all by itself.

Even though I've not yet made any of the recipes yet, I have to say that "Falling Cloudberries" is one of the most gorgeous books -- not just cookbooks -- that I own.

Stopping by via Esurientes this morning --

Anne, I think you can't go wrong with the Chez Panisse cookbook. I have her vegetables cookbook which has the loveliest linocuts of vegetables illustrating it. I have been to the restaurant, everything is wonderful there and all very fresh and local.

Thanks also for adding me to your blogroll, and yes, the Chez Panisse and the Cake Bible books are amazing. Both I highly recommend.

The Bread Bible is also good, but not a must have. If you want a great bread book, Beard on Bread is where you should be looking.

I am really interested in "Endangered Recipes" - never heard of it. I would love to know more about it when you get it!
