Wedding presents #2 - plates and platters

And for the next installment of my wedding presents - here are some new plates and platters! My cupboards are filled to the brim now - and I love it.

First out are two large platters from Mateus. Gorgeous!! The rose one is in their lace pattern, and the aqua is plain. As it happens, I love Mateus and have a small collection of their oyster bowls. Great quality, and great colors.

And then some actual plates. Per's parents gave us these lovely Grill Plates from Villeroy & Boch, New Wave.

These are from the same line, and are my new favorites. I want to use them for everything - they're so pretty, and really show off the food served. I love them for pasta!

We also got a large glass platter, and several glass bowls - but they're not really foody, so I'm not showing them. Got to have SOME limits, right?

Great presents, especially those in white. I have been looking for something like that. But do they fit into the dishwasher? Most restaurant-style oversized china I've seen wouldn't fit into our machine, and hand dish? No way. Only for very special happenings.

Wow - great gifts! I really love those white plates - I should have been a bit more adventurous with my wedding list!! ;-) Glad to hear you got so many beautiful foor-related things.

Nikka, I think these actually do fit. They're not as big as they look! :) I know - I don't handwash much either. Only a really old set of china that Per got after his grandmother - but we don't use that much.

Andrew - that's so cool. Thanks!!

Jeanne - hah, actually we did wish for these plates, but pretty much everything else was just selected by all our friends. I guess they have good taste! (And I also guess that we write sucky and boring lists.) (Not that we sent it to that many, mainly our parents.)

The Matteus platters looks lovely, especially the rose one!!

I love the New Wave series, they are really beautiful. To bad that we don't own anything from the series though... :-)

Hi Anne,
The New Wave set was our choice for our wedding china. I don't have the grill plates and the bowls you have though, mabye I need to go back and buy some more stuff. Make sure to get the cafe cups! =)

I adore those Mateus plates, they're gorgeous, as well as the white plates- nothing better to showcase food on!

Cin - I'm fairly sure it's the one called Platter full lace, in Pink. (34 cm) You can find it in their "complete product guide", in the third row from the bottom. It's shown in Sand. (Which isn't nearly as pretty if you ask me.) :)

Ah, Wave plates. Melissa and I were hooked as soon as we saw them. We only registered for a few for our wedding, but we do love them.

They do go into the dishwasher. Melissa insisted on that as a requirement for our dishware.
