Is reindeer a common meat in Sweden? I wonder if it tastes anything like elk -- a friend of mine in grade school once brought back some elk jerky from a hunting trip and it was fantastic.
It's somewhat common - in the sense that you can buy some reindeer products in many places, usually frozen meat, and smoked reindeer to put on your sandwich. Fresh reindeer, or elk for that matter, is much harder to find. It's more available in the north - at least reindeed. Elk is easily accessible if you know someone who hunts... The meats are pretty similar - both are very lean.

Wow, I have never seen reindeer on a plate before. Perhaps reindeer is to the Sweedish what kangaroo is to us Aussie.

So THAT'S what happened to Rudolph! haha I imagine that reindeer takes like deer does. Looks good anyway!
