How about some christmas labels?

Since it's December 1, it's high time to start thinking about christmas gifts. In fact, I'm pretty much done - all shopped, all wrapped, all done. Almost. I plan to give a bunch of edible gifts as well, and I haven't got started on those. However, when I do finish them, maybe I'll use this nifty label-generator to get some pretty labels! It's on the homepage for Swedish rapeseed oil, and they also offer some nice recipes for the holidays - especially a mustard mayo that sounds delicious! I don't know how much rapeseed is used in other parts of the world, but it's fairly popular here and cold-pressed rapeseed oil is definitely comparable to virgin olive oil.

In Canada, it's called canola oil and it's used *all* the time. Apparently rapeseed as a name didn't go over very well... :)

Oh, that sure explains things! I guess I never thought that there'd be another name for it, and I do remember vaguely thinking about what canola was - now I know! :) Thanks for clearing that up!

The labels do look very nifty. I'm going to try and translate the website as would be good to see how to make them. Show us any goodies you make

I love the labels! I think I'm going to make popcorn balls (and say that they're snowballs) for x-mas so that snowflake label is perfect for the bags I'll put them in <3

I'm not sure this was suppose to work this way... I chose the red label and edited it (the website is very user friendly, even to somebody who knows NO Swedish, like me :), but the printout was an all BLACK page with the label in the middle. Should it be like this? I mean, the black background?

Rapeseed and canola are both derived from mustard (and canola is bred from rapeseed) but canola has been selected to reduce something in the oil that apparently isn't great for people, and to feed livestock as it has reduced glucosinolates from rapeseed.

I've been to a town in Saskatchewan that used to bill itself as the "rape capital of Canada"
Now it grows canola...
