How very depressing!

I just got an e-mail from one of my readers, informing me that BBC Food is going to be replaced with BBC Lifestyle. This truly, truly sucks. BBC Food is pretty much the only channel I really care about! Why, dear BBC? Why? I don't want any more boring shows about home improvement or "fantasy homes" (for goodness sake, there's already about a million of those!) - I want more Heston, more Jamie, more Nigella, more COOKING!

And if I can't have BBC Food back, could someone please start broadcasting Food Network here..?

Yes, this sucks. :-(

I hope BBC can change their minds.

I want more Ainsly, more Rick, more Gary, etc. Please BBC bring them back!

(I have also informed Kinna about it.)

It can´t be true! I just found out yesterday, and I´ve been trying to get some more information from comhem - but without any success. Is really BBC the problem or is it Comhem and Viasat? Does anyone outhere know or have some more information? I also want Jamie, Nigella, James Martin, Heston, Hugh, Ben, Nigel, Tamasin, Sophie, Gennaro ....

Can you get any FoodNetwork shows online? Sometimes I've found little rogue sites that will pop up for awhile with some of the shows I like archived.

It's terrible :-( We got the new channels yesterday and when F said he couldn't find BCC Food anymore I wasn't happy. But I'm glad I didn't send the planned angry email to Canal Digital yesterday as I didn't know that it's actually BBC's fault.

Funny - we live in Scotland and have never received BBC Food. We'd really have liked to (except that we hate Gordon and Nigella).

Ah, what a sad day...

Glad I could make it a bit better by 'tagging' you; http://valen-utvik.blogspot.com/2008/12/tagging.html

Because you like things like this, right? ;)

Have a great day!

discovered your blog doing a search on some traditional swedish stuff. I'm planning a 2nd grade school party. The theme is "Christmas Around the World." Our class is Sweden. I look forward to poking around here. If you have some good ideas for good/easy foods for 7 and 8 year olds, I would love to read it! THANKS!

Just got some news from our customers in London. They were really satisfied with the new launch of BBC Lifestyle to the Canal Digital satellite.

Hi all,

BBC has launched four channels in the Nordics. You can find the schedules at http://scandinavia.bbclifestyle.com/, http://scandinavia.bbcentertainment.com/, http://scandinavia.bbcknowledge.com/, http://scandinavia.bbchd.com/. Check your local cable operator for your programming. Have also heard that there will be a fuller schedule in April. All the best M

Umm yes, we know that they've launched these channels - to replace their previous ones. The new ones are MUCH less interesting. Us foodies really enjoyed BBC Food - and the new channels.. well, pretty much suck in that respect.
