Weekend... deer blogging?
No cats, but they were awfully occupied checking out this deer in my neighbor's garden a few days ago. We live in a calm little area, but it's just fifteen minutes from the city centre in Stockholm. I'm amazed at how much wildlife we have - I often see squirrels and rabbits on my way to work, and deers are really common too. Not usually as calm as this one though! He stood there for a good ten minutes, checking things out. The cats got really excited, totally glued to the windows. I wonder what they'd do if they actually met a deer, though!

haha! Make sure to cover the carrots!!! :-)
Yoshi had a close encounter with a deer the other day, he seemed to be in shock. But as soon as the deer turned his back and started walking Yoshi followed it. I'm not sure if he really thought he would be able to catch it or if he was just curious.
a friend with a beautiful garden called the other week. I had 12 of them in the garden this morning!! They are eating things they said they would not ever ever touch. That they are eating!!
We are, btw, calling deer for demons. Demon Deer. Not without good reason either.
Wow, I just realized how little wildlife I see in New York City. I can't remember the last time I saw a squirrel even.
I do see a lot of crazy people. Does that count?!
Anne, I live with the deer daily checking out my and my neighbors' gardens. I like the sight and especially in the spring when there are baby deer with moms. But....they do eat many things that I like so either a fence (it cannot be shorter than 150cm) or a definite NO to certain things: no tulips, no roses, no pansies, no geraniums. This is favorite food for them. Since we don't want a fence, I had to get creative in what we plant. And for a good measure I spray my plants with a harmless liquid called Liquid Deer Fence. It is made with basically rotten eggs and smells horrible but it seems to work.

The deer is so small! But cute, I'm sure.

How lovely! I am always surprised at the amount of sildlife I see in a very central London suburb. Foxes, hedgehogs, squirrels... Can imagine the cats glued to the windows, LOL!
Hi, I found your site in a search for a Sylta recipe. My Mother used to make it every Christmas. My Grandfather was from Sweden.
I see a lot of wildlife where I live in NW Wisconsin in the USA. It's a rural area so deer spend their time eating my Hostas in the summer:-).
