One of my favorite places for lunch is Albert & Jacks, a deli/café which serves delicious sandwiches on brilliant bread (serrano & manchego is my favorite) and huge salads (do try the cold cuts salad, but the caesar is great, too!) and also wonderful buns and baked goods. Photo is of a cardamom-chocolate bun, and a great latte. Highly recommended. They have two locations in Stockholm so far and rumors say there'll be more...

On to some less good news. We finally tried out Jimmy's Steakhouse (Hammarby Sjöstad location) after eyeing it for actually a few years since it opened. Unfortunately, we found it overpriced and not spectacular at all. My roast lamb rack was fine, but Per's Mixed Grill was a pathetically small serving and he ended up eating half of mine, too. And for those prices... sorry. I don't think we'll be coming back.

Hmm. I finally went to that Texas Steak house. Wasnt bad. Itreminded me of a Swedish Outback Steak House.I was surrised in the meats texture and portions.I am really considering opening up a chicken shack there.I think they will love it.
Hi! My english is terrible, I hope to write in the correct way. I am italian and I am curiose to try the cardamom-chocolate bun ( is it a swedish speciality?).
Do you have a good recipe?
Thanks.
The cafe/deli sounds wonderful and the cardamom-chocolate bun looks wonderful
Glamah - oh totally, you really should :)
Cosmpolita, I can't say that it's traditional at all.. I think they just used a regular cardamom dough (I have one for cinnamon buns that will work great) and dusted cocoa in the filling. It'd have been better with actual chocolate, it was a little on the dry side now. :)
Wow! Must try the first restaurant. I've heard similar about Jimmy's Steakhouse, unfortunately. Do you know anything about Grill? I've been eyeing it for a while now...
L, I've only been to Grill once, when they had Sunday buffets. That was nice - not great-great-great, but well worth the price. Their menu now looks a bit on the steep side, but I've only heard good things about the food, so I definitely want to try it.
