The cheese of gods... hehe. ;) That reminded me that it was at least a couple of years before I could convince my Swedish husband that Velveeta counted as cheese.. and after someone actually emailed the company to ask. Although you did say "cheese" so I guess you know exactly what I mean. (I did note that he never turned down any foods prepared with Velveeta, in any case. Hmm..) (I don't think I've ever commented, but hi, I'm Kisha, and I'm an American married to a Swede, living in the US.)
Hi Kisha! Great to hear from you! :) Haha, yeah, Velveeta is probably about as fake as it gets - but it's so taaaasty. I wish they sold it here, but no. Probably way too many conservatives ;)

Hi! I love a grilled cheese sandwich, crunchy on the outside, all melty inside... Well, who doesn't? But can you get Velveeta outside the US? I think I share your fascination with both Kraft Mac & Cheese and Velveeta "cheese", although I've never tasted either one. They just seem so tasty... As your own homemade treats up there look, by the way. Yum!
So are any of your cats addicted to Velveeta? My 19 year old Gretel is. And I mean ADDICTED. Good thing is that I can wrap it around vitamins and voila! she eats them without even knowing it. Okay, most of the time. : )P.S. Super photo!

Anonymous - sadly, Velveeta isn't sold in Sweden.. although I heard a rumor that it's *sometimes* available in an American food store. I have to investigate - and possibly bribe someone to tell me more.. Farmgirl - I feel bad now. I haven't let the kitties try, actually - all for ME. :)
Have you tried mixing a little parmesean cheese in with the butter before spreading on the outside of the bread? It really adds a lot of flavor, and makes it even more cheesy and crunchy. You can also use different seasonings...
