Mango-Banana Sauce

mango-bananasauce

This could not be simpler. But it *is* a very tasty sauce - you can use it as a dipping sauce for veggies or chicken (especially good with Coconut Chicken Nuggets) or stir it into yogurt, or use it in a dessert, like this Fruity Semifreddo.

You need one banana, and about 200 ml of mango, diced. And a little bit of lime. Mix, mash or blend, into a smooth sauce. And that's that. It keeps for a few days in the fridge, but it'll get darker over time.

Me & my little girl would love this. The flavor must be so bright.

Another blog I read posted a recipe for banana mango tea bread today (it appeared right next to yours in Google Reader, how odd!) and I think this sauce would be lovely with the banana mango bread as a pudding. I'm definitely trying that tomorrow.

(the other recipe is here in case you want to have a look: http://flyingdebster.wordpress.com/2011/02/26/banana-mango-tea-bread/ )

Parents always ask me how to get kids to eat more vegetables. One of my tips is that kids like to dip foods. This would be a good sauce to try.

Definitely - my kid doesn't enjoy dipping yet (or sauces in general) but I hope he will soon! :)
